frequently asked questions

What can I make during the workshop?

In hand-building workshops, you can create small pieces like a plate, cup, jewelry dish, or vase - feel free to experiment.

Wheel-throwing is more technical, so we focus on guiding you through the process while you get a feel for the technique.

Why is the glazing workshop a separate session?

After you create your piece, it needs time to dry before it can be bisque fired - a 9-hour process at 1000°C that hardens the clay. Only then is it ready for glazing

After you apply glaze, it goes through a second firing at 1150°C for about 5 hours. This final step gives your piece its finished, durable surface.

Do I need any prior experience with ceramics?

Our workshops are beginner-friendly. You'll be guided step-by-step, whether it’s your first time or you’ve tried pottery before.

What should I wear?

Working with clay can get messy, especially during a wheel-throwing workshop. We recommend wearing clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. Clay easily comes off in a normal wash. We also provide aprons.
